I won’t torture you with any more Photoshop collages today.
How do you feel about my Vegas-inspired holiday decor though?
Yes, that’s a cactus up in that mess.
And how do you feel about red wine hangovers? Because we all know I haven’t dedicated enough time to those. I usually try to cut out the booze toward the end of the semester, but Wednesday night is my proving to be my Achilles’ heel. Damn you, hump day. At least I still have all my teeth though – that’s a step in the right direction. I won’t bore you with the details, but hopefully you’ll believe me when I say that video game-themed holiday parties where middle-aged lobbyists are running around, shitfaced, in Mario and Luigi costumes, will drive anyone to drink in excess.
The afterparty in the limo bus, on the other hand, was just unnecessary.
You’re probably picturing some douchey 20-something dude ordering a limo bus in a misguided attempt to be cool and wondering what kind of people I associate with, which is probably a fair inquiry under any circumstances. But it was actually an old dude – like, 75+ – and he was passing out red wine in solo cups and blasting Bon Jovi and making political references no one understood and it was just not right.
I better not see another limo bus until my kids’ high school prom.
McDonald’s breakfast yesterday morning didn’t suck though.
There were also some accomplishments this week, thank god. How else could I live with myself?? I had my last class of the semester yesterday, and I got through my trial advocacy final on Wednesday night…
I really thought there were more than that but everything is escaping me at the moment.
We’re heading back to Scotland tomorrow, and then on to Florida for the Disney wedding. I’m missing my entire reading week, and I had to reschedule my finals so I’ll be taking all of them when I return, which should be interesting, to put it lightly. Maybe I can study on the plane? Ick. I’m an idiot to put myself in this position, but when faced with a choice between responsible and fun, let’s be real: there are times when you just can’t have it both ways.
I choose fun.
What about you? Do you ever make sobriety pledges you can’t stick to? Eat McDonald’s breakfast after a rough night? Procrastinate on the boring stuff so you can go out and make bad decisions? Make your dog wear antlers?
