I’ve always been a huge Halloween fan. Remember how I wanted a Halloween wedding? I was dead serious but no one believed me. What a shame – it would have been way cooler that way.
I was going to recount some of my favorite Halloween costumes of years past, but I decided against it because I don’t have any photographic evidence on hand. I did manage to dredge up this gem from 2010, back when I still liked Katy Perry. I have a friend named Kat and she dressed up like Kitty Purry (for those of you who don’t know, Kitty Purry is/was Katy Perry’s cat in real life.)
Sadly, it was the last time I really celebrated Halloween, because by 2011 I was in law school and spent my nights reading torts cases while my friends were out making bad decisions.
I can’t tell you how much I love that blue wig – it’s the crown jewel of my collection.
Sadly, the wigs haven’t been out since my single days. For some reason the Boo doesn’t get excited by the whole “let’s-get-shitfaced-beyond-all-control and have a wig-wearing dance party and then go to the bars looking like trannies” game plan. But they’ll be making an appearance at my birthday Masquerade Ball in a few weeks. My excitement level is a little inappropriate.
The photo doesn’t do justice to my blue sequined hot pants but they were a whole lotta fun. I found them at Patricia Field – she’s running a real freaky little corner of the internet. It’s totally worth a look if you’re bored at work.
While everyone else is out waving their freak flags tonight, I’ll be sleeping through my Property class. So have fun for me. More importantly, have fun for you. Embrace and appreciate your freedom. Because you never know – you could wake up one day, misidentify your boredom for ambition, and subsequently find yourself enrolled in law school. Trust me – I’m living proof that it can happen to anyone.
Happy Halloween friends. Make it a good one!
